Obituary

James Edward Crutcher, Jr. was an intelligent, loving, caring, energetic, humorous, and kind-hearted man. Born July 9, 1962 in Chattanooga, TN, he attended Kirkman Technical High School, where he received his high school diploma. James enjoyed spreading the word of God so much that he went on to obtain his ministry license. James worked as a warehouse assistant at Southern Champion Tray for years. Although James was known for his many characteristics, he was battling a long-term illness. On November 10, 2020, James passed away at Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Mae Pearison and father James Edward Crutcher, Sr.

He is survived by his daughter, Lakeshia A. Crutcher; son, James Crutcher, III; sister, Rebecca Holloway; brothers, Samuel Pearison and Larry Crutcher; 7 grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, all of Chattanooga.

A public viewing will be held 2:00PM -6:00PM, Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the funeral home.

Arrangements by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.

James will certainly be missed my condolences and prayers of comfort to his family. We were classmates and he was the class clown who kept us laughing. I will miss his unwavering faith as a minister of the Gospel he stood with me in prayers of agreement on many occasions when family members were going through health crises. I would just like to leave this scripture of comfort:

2 Timothy 4:7-8

New International Version

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing
