Obituary

Nate J. Carter, 44, born May 29, 1976, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, in Chattanooga. He was a gift from God born to Nathaniel Carter Jr. and Linda Cox Carter. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1995. He attended Chattanooga State Vocational College. He was a member of Grace Baptist Tabernacle Church.

He is preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Carter Jr.; grandparents, Nathaniel Carter, Sr., Helen Bradley Cox, Robert Charles Cox Sr.; mother-in-law, Veltina Reynolds; and uncle, Robert Charles Cox Jr.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Sheena R Carter; children, NaShaya Carter and JaMonte Dandy; mother, Linda Carter; grandmothers, Doris Carter and Georgia Reynolds; brother, Patrick L. Carter; sister, Kenya Smith O’Neal; father-in-law, Michael Reynolds; sister-in-law, Carenda Reynolds; brother-in-law, Corey (Ashley) Reynolds; aunts, Robbie Carter, Renita, (Lamonte) Johnson, Deborah Turner, Phyllis Carter Cosper, Michele Carter (Lerone) Winston, Delilah Cox Samples, Renee Russell, Franchesca Brown, and Robertine Solomon, Itivitia Spears, Barbara Spears, and Glenda Springs; great aunt, Cynthia Gunn; other relatives, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 30, 2021, in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home. Interment: Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery.
