Where do I begin, my heart is saddened but my spirit is rejoicing knowing that God has called home a true angel that dwelled amongst us. To the entire Chambers Parris family we share in your mourning of the passing of our beloved Ms. Paris. She was by far the most loving, caring and compassionate educator I have ever known. She was my 6th grade teacher at Longfellow elementary school on the east side of the city in Saginaw MI. Ms. Paris had an affectious presence that made you feel as though you could accomplish anything. Her motherly love and her demand of always giving your best will remain with me the rest of my life. She was everything we needed in her class, if you needed help, encouragement, support, love or a good old fashion kick in the pants ( not literally... lol ), she provided it. I can remember not having money one morning for gram crackers and chocolate milk and being sad that I was going to miss out on our morning treat. She looked at me and told me to get my face right because she wasn't going to ley me go without. That was the type of person she was, she cared for all as though they were her own. That small gesture of kindness and concern was displayed consistently to all her students. As years went by and our paths crossed, she would STILL render support and words of encouragement. She taught so long....... lol, that she even had my daughters as students at Central Middle School, and she gave them the same love and attention that she gave to all her students. Ms. Paris was a true example of a virtuous woman walking in her God given authority. I believe in my heart that all those she touched are better because of her. I could go on and on but my words could never express totally the impact she made on my and many others lives. Rest in Peace "QUEEN" and I hear in my spirit Matthew 25:23 God saying to her "well done good and faithful servant!" You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.

Geraldine was one of my sister’s dearest friends when I was growing up in Chattanooga. She loved to sew and would make the prettiest outfits. I last saw her during my brother in law’s funeral after not seeing her for years. She was the same Geraldine—Still funny. Rest in Heaven Gerri. You will be sorely missed.

To Staci and family,

First I want to say I am truly sorry for the passing of a beautiful, phenomenal, loving, caring, and gentle giant, Ms. Geraldine Parris. I have been out of school for 33 years and she was my 6th grade teacher at Longfellow Elementary School. She was not just a teacher, but a 2nd mother, and mentor. She showed us love and pushed us to our greatest. She was firm, but passionate. She taught me and my twin sister, Melisa, and my younger brother Ben. She taught us, but she got very well acquainted with my parents. She was just that type of educator, someone who really cared about her students. Throughout my adult life she attended my daughter's and nephew's high school open house. She always had interest in their education. She learned my nickname "Brownie" while I was in elementary and after that, it was always Brownie and not Velissa. Lady, I am going to miss you and I wished I was able to see you one more time. Me and some classmates thought about doing a caravan trip to Tennessee to visit her, but due to COVID we were not able to fulfill our wishes. I am so glad, that every time me and her came in contact, we gave each a hug and said I love you. Ms Parris, you touched several people lives. We love you and we are definitely going to miss you. Rest in Paradise, Ms. Geraldine "Gerri" Parris.

Love the Batts Family,
Bennie, Bettye, Sal, Brownie, and Lil Ben
