Obituary for Welton "Bo" Franklin, Jr.

Mr. Welton Franklin, Jr., was born in Chattanooga on July 3,1969 to Welton Franklin, Sr. and Mary E. Hollingsworth.
Welton is affectionately known to family and friends as “Bo”. Bo departed this life on October 7, 2022, at his residence.

Bo was baptized at an early age at Highland Park Baptist Church. He is a graduate of Kirkman High School and Chattanooga State Community College. Bo served in the United States Navy. He was employed by Electric Power Board for 24 years as a construction foreman. Bo was an avid LSU fan and proudly wore the purple and gold colors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Welton Franklin Sr.; sister, Sondra Franklin Smith; grandparents, Percy and Susie Hollingsworth, Margaret Langston; cousin, Dustin Smith

Bo’s memory will be cherished in the hearts of his mother, Mary Franklin Baker; sister, Kimberly Richmond Franklin; sons, Christopher Franklin and Caleb Franklin; daughter, Mayah Franklin; uncles, Percy (Frances) Hollingsworth, Jessie Hollingsworth and Andrew Langston; aunts, Susie Jackson and Alice Langston; nephews, Elgen (Celestine) Glass, Richard (Kuki) Bibbs, Jr., Alexander (Delisa) Gillespie, III; Demetrius Bibbs; nieces, Alexandria (William) Gillespie and Maliyah Franklin; cousins, Felicia (Eundra) Porter, Robert (Felicia) Jackson, Darian Smith and Cleavon Smith; special friends, Scottie Jarrett and Anthony Moore; a host of other family members, friends, co-workers, and many good buddies.

The family is requesting that those attending the funeral, wear purple and/or gold.

Public viewing will be held 2:00 pm -6:00 pm Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the funeral home. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am Friday, October 21, 2022, in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
