Mr. Walter Lee Josey was born March 28, 1948, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Eddie James Josey, Sr. (Geneva Watson Josey) of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He graduated from Riverside High School class of 1967. Walter served with distinction in The United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Greater Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. Walter worked and volunteered at many facilities such as; The Davis Homes, Community Kitchen, and the Chattanooga Housing Authority (Retired).
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie James Josey, Sr. and Geneva Watson Josey; wife, Rosalind Puckett; three sisters, Genetta Josey, Denise (Maurice) Thomas, and Bertha (Tyrone) Lansden; brother, Eugene Josey; sisters-in-law, Rachel Josey, Inez Pankey.
Those left to cherish his precious memories are his children, daughter, Maletha (Ronald) Belgon; step-children, Erika Puckett, Corey (Donetha) Puckett, and Eric Ricky Puckett; 7 grandchildren, Timothy McBride ll, Lauren (his number one girl) Belgon, Christa Williams Johnson, Candice Strickland, Carmen Puckett, Makia Puckett, and Najja Puckett; brother, Eddie James (Michell) Josey Jr.; sisters-in-law, Diane Josey, Carolyn Puckett-Jones, and Beulah Parker; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Public viewing will be held 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Wednesday, December 14, 2022, followed by a 12:00 o'clock PM funeral service in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.
Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Gate Time 2:00 PM
