Obituary for Veronica K. Jefferson

Veronica Katherine Butts-Jefferson was born September 3, 1964, in Chattanooga. She attended and graduated from Rossville High School. Veronica was employed by Sodexo for many years as the head cook. She was remembered as “Peanut” by those who loved her. She was a member of the Christ Hope Baptist Church for 16 years, Veronica was First Lady and President of Scenic City Cruisers, a motorcycle crew.

Among those who preceded Veronica in death, include her father, Calvin Butts; her mother, Velma K. Butts.

On December 15,2022, at the Parkridge Medical Center, Veronica departed this earthly life at age 58.

Cherishing her memories are her daughter, Monica K. Jackson, her two granddaughters, Olivia K. Moore and Jada J. Moore; her two great-granddaughters, Amira K. Smith, Jay’Uana Johnson; her two great-grandsons, Omarion D. Smith and Legend L. Wright; her sisters, Lisa Garth, Sandra Butts, Sinilia McRoberts, Barbara Morgan, Jacqueline Smith, Patricia Jennings, Charlene Hogg, Jean Tanksley, Sharon Smith, and Betty Robinson; her brothers, Stanley Butts, Aaron Butts and Calvin H. White; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Wednesday, December 28, 2022, followed by a 4:00 PM, Celebration of Life service in the Chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.
