Obituary for Troy D Crutcher, Sr.

Troy Duane Crutcher Sr. departed this life October 15, 2022 at his residence. He was born to Ernest McKinley Crutcher Sr. and the late Lessie Terella Crutcher on November 13, 1970 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Troy was a 1990 graduate of Chattanooga City High School, where his love of basketball flourished. He loved sports, especially the Tennessee Volunteers. The day that Troy went home to be with the Lord the Vols beat Alabama. We all could hear Troy saying, “ITS GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!”

He married the love of his life and his best friend, Daphne Yvonne Green on September 21, 2013 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His life was his baby boy, Troy Duane Crutcher Jr. (TJ). On the day of his birth, Troy knew what his assignment was and his assignment was to fulfill God’s Word in teaching their son about who God is and to be the best dad he could possibly be to TJ. Due to Troy’s obedience to God, TJ gave his life to Christ. On October 15, 2022, Troy completed his task. Troy learned his dedication to the Lord from his mother. He loved gospel music (old and new) and was raised in the Apostolic faith.

Sadly, Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Lessie Terrella Crutcher; his sister, Mrs. Angela Foster and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Faye Green.

Troy’s leaves his legacy to his family: wife, Daphne Yvonne Crutcher; son, Troy Duane Crutcher, Jr. (TJ); father, Ernest McKinley Crutcher, Sr.; six brothers: Terry Joe Willingham, Ernest McKinley Crutcher, Jr., Solomon Lebron Crutcher, Sr., Andre Ray, Rodney Willingham and Frederick Douglass and one sister, Rhonda (Dee Dee) Crutcher Muir, all of Chattanooga, TN; one brother-in-law, Lewis (Tacia) Green; Cleveland, TN; host of friends, both past and present to mourn his loss, including but not limited to, Kedrick Weaver, Dexter Higgins, and Willie Griffin along with a loving village of nieces, nephews and cousins.
