Obituary for Sarah Ann Parham
Sarah Ann Dean Parham, born August 20, 1949, in Cartersville Georgia, passed away October 3, 2022 in Chattanooga. Sarah spent most of her life in Chattanooga. She has also lived in Springfield MA, Louisville KY, and Houston TX. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education while attending Knoxville College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Sarah was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She spent most of her career teaching elementary school and that was truly her passion. Family was of extreme importance to Sarah and she always went above and beyond to take care of loved ones. She was greatly loved and will be extremely missed. Sarah was a member of the Shawnee Hills Neighborhood Association. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Lillie Dean, brother, Jeremiah Dean.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Keiawnca (Henry) Parham, of Chattanooga and Kelli (Terrance) Tharpe, of Indianapolis IN; brother, William (Sharon) Dean, Sr., of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Zoey Tharpe, of Indianapolis IN; nephews, William Jr. and Vincent Dean and their families; niece, Natasha Dean and her family, Victoria Dean and Shirley Dean, numerous other family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm Saturday, October 15, 2022, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.
