Obituary for Sandra Jane Rogers
Sandra Jane Kimbrough Rogers, age 79, of HIxson, TN finished life peacefully at her home on December 10, 2022. She was born May 15,1943 in Ocoee, TN to the late Tate Wike Kimbrough and Marjorie Waneta Massengill Kimbrough.
Sandra was married to her best friend Tom for over 52 years. They were wonderful tennis partners and game players. They met while students at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and married after graduating. They settled in Hixson and raised two daughters. Sandra was a phenomenal mother and even better Grammy.
Sandra was a faithful member of Hixson United Methodist Church where she worked at the daycare with life-long friends, Claudia, Donna, and Fran. She was also loved her Ladies Solo Sunday School class.
Sandra was the sweetest person and was a wonderful friend. She enjoyed traveling with Tom on vacations or to see Bluegrass performances. She loved crossword puzzles, swimming without getting her hair wet, being kind to everyone, and making others happy.
She leaves to mourn her passing: husband, Tom Rogers of HIxson, daughters, Melinda Morris of Nashville; LeeAnne Keeper and husband, Matt of Knoxville; grandchildren, Lane Kepper, Rosalie Morris, and Chloe Kepper; sister, Neta Munsey of New Tazewell, TN; brother, Richard Kimbrough and wife Linda of Ooltewah, TN; many friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sue Kimbrough of Corrryton, TN.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
