Miss. Sandra J. Freeman was a gift from God given to the world on March 26, 1951. Sandra went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 25, 2021. She attended Riverside High School then obtained a nursing degree from Erlanger School of Nursing. She enjoyed being a nurse, caring for patients, working in hospitals and Hospice Care. Sandra’s life passion was helping the homeless/needy, reaching out to people on the street, and saving souls making sure people’s lives were right with God, so they were assured a spot in Heaven. Sandra had a street church ministry that spanned over two decades, where she along with her sister and brother in Christ, Lizzie and Terry King, served food to hundreds of people in need weekly, while ministering to people about God.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Fannie Freeman; brothers Gregory and Errol Freeman; sister, Carol Freeman; sister-in-law, Mary Freeman; nephew, Anthony Shepherd.

Those left to cherish Sandra’s precious memories, include her children, Tracy Freeman, Charles (Candi) Robinson, Curtis Freeman, and her amazing daughter LaFonya Freeman; grandchildren, Tracy Freeman, Jr., TraShun Freeman, Christian Robinson, Madison Robinson, and MiKayla Shipman; brothers, Charles Freeman, Jr., Elroy (Debbie) Freeman, and Anthony Freeman; sister, Berlinda Freeman; nieces, Retonga (Marquise) Freeman, LaKisha Walker (Jyra, Britnee, Miracle), and Erlissa Howard, (Michael, Noah, Christian); nephews, Robert (Christian) Walker, Jr., and Adrien Freeman.

Spiritual daughters, Erica Duncan, Dana (Hunter) Higgins, Katrina Shipman, Patrice Cox (Brittany and Brannon), and Phyllis Brown; a host of other family, spiritual friends and loved ones.

Sandra would tell people cherishing her memories that the best way you can honor and cherish her is by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. A special thanks to Dr. Terry Melvin.

A private funeral service will be held.

Arrangements by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.

Sandra Freeman was my God-mother, but never treated me as anything less than her own child. She was a huge influence in my life when I was growing up, and continued to be just as influential in my adult life. She was an absolutely amazing woman, whom I loved with all my heart, and the world is a dimmer place without her light in it.

I would like to extend my condolences to the Freeman family. Sandra and I worked together at Erlanger Medical Center on North Wing 9. She was one of the best nurses I worked along side. She was a kind and compassionate soul, always had a smile on her face and always willing to help if you needed and extra hand. I would like to affirm to the family that the world has lost a WONDERFUL person. A Saint in my eyes. I believe you should give credit where credit is due.
