Obituary for Russell Wayne Paris, Sr.

Russell was educated in the Chattanooga public school. He was a 1977 graduate of Howard High School. He was a former employee of Kentucky Fried Chicken and Lookout Mountain Golf Club.

Russell loved being a husband, dad, brother, uncle, and friend. Most of all he loved the title of “GRAMPS”. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren.

Russell loved lending a helping hand. No matter what time of day, he would stop what he was doing to help. He had a big heart and loved helping family, friends, and his church family. Russell was a man of God with a heart of gold.

He truly let his light shine everywhere. Russell was known for his flavorful food that was cooked with love. Russell was a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He later united with the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. Russell served on the Deacon board, male chorus, mass choir, Sunday school, trustee board, kitchen ministry, lawn care team for the church, and various other positions in the church.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Doris B. Paris; mother-in-law, Beatrice King; sisters and brothers, Barbara Paris, Edward Paris, Walter Paris, and Robert T Paris; grandson, Riasian Paris; son in law, Bradley Dossett, Sr; sister-in-law, Elizabeth King; brother-in-law James King.

Cherishing Russell's precious memories will be his loving wife, Frankie Regina Paris; children, Vanessa Dossett, Kapaneshia Moore, Akeia Colley, Patrick (Valerie) Smiley, Demetrius (Joyce) Eddins, E4 SPC Russell (Phyllis) Paris, Jr., Fort Irwin, California; sisters, Patricia P. McIntosh, Earline Paris, Janice P. (Charlie) Stevens, Doris D. Paris; grandchildren, Jordan and Demetrius Eddins, Jr., Bradley Dossett, Jr; David Hicks, Woodrow Paris, Russell Paris, III, Austin Rue, Kaiden and Zaiden Smiley, Treyvious and Timetrius Lansden; aunts and uncles, Bernice Sanders, Edward (Priscilla) King; sisters and brothers-in-law Charles (Ponda) Foster, Elaine Foster, Tondalaya Paris; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends; his devoted dogs Bizzy Ann and Black Girl Paris.

A public viewing will be held from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon Friday, December 11th at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church.

Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery.
