Obituary for Rose Marie Jordan

Rose Marie Jordan, 76, was born July 8, 1944 in Buffalo, AL to the late Byron and Lucida Adams. She passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at a local hospital. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Chattanooga. She attended Booker T. Washington School. Rose Marie united with Robert Jordan Sr. in holy matrimony July 2, 1961, and to this union was born two sons. She formerly employed with TNT, Dupont, and Bunge Oil Company where she later retired.

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Robert E. Jordan, Sr.; parents, Mrs. Lucida Adams and Mr. Byron Adams; three brothers, Edward Jack Adams, Willis Rogers Adams, Sr., and Charles Edward Adams, Sr.; one sister, Delores Williams; nephew, Angelo Weaver; grandchildren, Gerald Jordan, Jr., and "Jordan Twins", Aaliyah and Roderick Jordan; one great-grandchild, Ta'Challa EL Rey Auras Jordan.

She is survived by two devoted sons, Robert (Renee) Jordan, Jr. of Chattanooga and Gerald (Denise) Jordan of Cleveland TN; two daughters, Scharletta (Arthur) Carter and Sherri Adams, both of Chattanooga; loving brother, Dedrick "Bo" Adams; four loving sisters, Sarah Weaver and Carrie Cotton of Chattanooga, Rosetta Giles of Inglewood, California and Hattie Adams of Los Angeles, California; devoted brother-in-law, George Jordan, II of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Maya (Josh) James of Champaign, Illinois; Nigel (Sheyla) Jordan, Robert Jordan, III; Eric Bone, Jr., Germonte Jordan, Destiny Jordan, Robert Penn, III, Tre'vonte Penn, Corey Sanders, Jr., Xiah Young and Zander Adams, all of Chattanooga, Curtis Wood and GerMycah Jordan of Cleveland, Tennessee; seven great-grandchildren; special niece, Carol Ann Weaver; special friends, Joann Hilt, Dorothy Pickett, Evelyn "Moma Puddin" Davis, JD Davis, Arland Jenkins, Michael Lacy, Greg Hubbard and Terrance Young; a host of nieces, nephews and family friends.

Public viewing will begin at 9:00 am - 11:30 am Friday, November 13, 2020 at the funeral home. A family funeral service will follow at 12noon. Interment: Forest Hills Cemetery.
