Obituary for Roderick Smith

Roderick Clyde Smith was born on June 21, 1966 to Dr. Bobby and Mrs. Glenda Smith, in
Tuscaloosa, AL. His transition into heavenly peace occurred on September 19, 2020.
Roderick graduated from Brainerd High School in 1984 and later attended Chattanooga State. He

Rod was one of the most genuine persons that you could ever meet. If he saw you, he would
definitely speak to you. He had a passion for watching movies, reading books, listening to music
and watching sports. His favorite musical artists were Earth Wind & Fire, The Commodores, and
Tupac to name a few. His favorite sports teams were the Alabama football team (Roll Tide!), the
Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Lakers. Rod loved his family, friends, co-workers, and his
Brainerd High School classmates. He will be missed and forever loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Bobby C. Smith of Chattanooga, TN and his brother,
Darren K. Smith, of Tuscaloosa, AL.
Cherishing his memory are his loving and devoted mother and sister, Glenda F. Smith and Tara K.
