Obituary

Otha Lee Gordon,76, passed away on March 6, 2021, in Chattanooga. Otha was born November 6, 1944, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to parents, Betty Lee Thompson and Othe Thompson.

Otha attended Chattanooga public schools. After completing school, she went on to marry Charles Gordon. They were united in marriage for several years before he passed. She later moved to Washington D.C. where she met Carlyle S. Jackson, Sr. They had five lovely children. The family moved to New York and she started work for JD Transportation where she remained for several years. She later returned to Chattanooga, Tennessee where she started driving for Hamilton County Schools until her retirement.

Otha was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Avondale.

Otha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Gordon; sister, Sarah Houston; daughter, Pamela Abdullah; grandson, Malik Abdullah; and the love of her life, Carlyle S. Jackson, Sr.

Left to cherish her memories, sons, Michael Jackson of Bronx, New York, Carlyle ( Lisa ) Jackson, Jr ., of Babylon, New York, and Patrick Jackson of Chattanooga, Tennessee; daughter, Carla (Duan) Bush; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will be held 9:00 AM-12:00 PM, Friday, March 18, 2021, at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held. Interment: Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery.

In Loving Memory of my cousin Otha. ❤ We grew up together on Cowart Street and Emma Wheeler Homes and recently reconnected. I have very fond memories of our ancestors and regret not staying in touch. RIH Sweet Cousin!
