Obituary for Michael Dandy

Michael “Mike” Wayne Dandy, 72 passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at his home in Chattanooga, TN.

He was born on December 14, 1949, in Chattanooga, TN to the late Evelyn Louise and late John A. Dandy, Jr. Michael graduated from Howard High School class of 1968. He later served in the United States Army. Michael began his career at Norfolk Southern Railroad. He retired after more than 20 years of service.

He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He had a true passion for fishing and also enjoyed playing softball, watching westerns, cooking, dancing, and listening to Michael Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Dandy, and Floyd Mathis.

He leaves to cherish his memories, six children, Lawanna (James) Westbrook, Denise (David) May, Alma (Marvin) Clemons, Evelyn (Demetrius) Miller, Michael Paul Dandy, and Summyr (Tori) Suggs; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Larry (Margaret) Dandy, and Leroy (Vina) Dandy; aunt, Patricia Green; uncle, Gatha Logan; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family of Michael Dandy would like to thank Pastor Allan Harrington and the Saints of the World’s Church of the Living God for all their thoughts, prayers, and support during our time of bereavement. A 1:00 PM graveside service with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Chattanooga National Cemetery
