Obituary for McKinley Kent Sanders

McKinley “Kent” Sanders, 83, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. McKinley “Kent” Sanders was born in Roanoke, Alabama, on May 18, 1937. McKinley “Kent” was self-employed at his business, The Shop, where he worked on cars. He also worked for Midas Muffler for many years. His hobby was working on cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sanders and Opal Jackson Sanders; sister, Dorothy Taylor; sons, Kenneth Sanders and James Edward Sanders; niece Mozell Dandy; nephew; Melvin Dandy.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Eunice McIntyre Sanders; daughter, Darlene Sanders; son, Walter Sanders; sister Morlene Daniels; stepchildren, Marva Boyd, Darlene Hammonds, Roland (Carol) McIntyre, II, Eric (LaShawnda) McIntyre, Terrance (Stephanie) McIntyre; nieces, Wanda, Brenda, Niecey, Antanetta, Arlene; nephew, Otis (Chris) Dandy; great nieces and nephews; many other family members and friends. He was a proud grandfather and great grandfather. Thanks to his “special” care friends, Chris Gurley, Paul (Cynthia) Walker, “Alabama” and Joyce, “PeeWee”, and Dennis Jenkins; nephew, Charlie, and Greg Cruz, RN.

Public viewing will be held 9:00 AM- 12 :00 PM, Monday, January 25, 2021, at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held. Interment: Highland Memorial Gardens.
