Obituary for Mary Hodge
On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, Mrs. Mary Lee Hodge was called home peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Mary Lee Hodge was born January 22, 1951, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mrs. Mary would later move to Chattanooga, Tn in 1971, where she was employed by Loveman’s/Proffitt’s for 10 years.
Mrs. Mary was a very compassionate caregiver and mentor who was all about her family. She was a phenomenal woman who loved to cook and bake. She touched the hearts of everyone around her. Everyone loved them some “Granny” or “Mrs. Mary”. She was surrounded by love.
Mrs. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Frank B. Walker and Louise Davis; two sons, Timothy Hodge & Rickey Carson; brother, Cleve Jackson Jr.; best friends, Mildred Wright and Willie Ann Ross.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Garry Lee Hodge; 4 daughters, Sharon Walker, Angela (Dwight) McReynolds, Stacy (Thaddeus) Huglett, and Gabrielle (Domoniqua) Walker; 4 sons, Kenneth (Rhonda) Hodge, Darrell (Nicole) Hodge, Derrick (Michelle) Hodge, and Marlon (Tanisha) Hodge, all of Chattanooga; brothers, Johnny Sanders and Frank Walker Jr; sister, Janice Hodge, all of Chattanooga, TN. She also leaves to cherish her memories, 27 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and close friends of the family; dear friend Tina Williams.

Public viewing will be held from 2:00pm – 6:00pm Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 23, 2022, in the funeral home chapel. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
