Obituary for Lucretia Davenport

Lucretia “Pookie” Jeanette Davenport was born on October 27, 1951, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was 69 years old. She was educated in the Chattanooga Public School System. She was a member of the Church of the Living God. “Pookie” was a former employee of Roper Corporation, Fehn’s Restaurant, The Westside Cab Company, The Honors Course Golf Club, Mount Vernon Restaurant, and Pilgrim’s Pride.

Among those who preceded her in death include her mother, Ms. Dorothy “Dot” Davenport; father, Eddie Lee Wilson; two brothers, Lester Davenport and Joe Terry Davenport; her twin sons, Anthony and Antwone Davenport; granddaughter, Keshun “Shae” Johnson.

Lucretia departed this earthly life unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, in a local hospital. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of everyone she encountered. She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Myrna “Selina” Davenport and Jocelyn Davenport; son, Robin Davenport; two brothers, James (Shirley) Davenport and Robin “Fat Head” Davenport; all of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sister, Lita (Rickey) Williams, of Bowdon, GA, sister in-law, Brenda (Lester) Davenport; aunt, Catherine Newby, of Huntsville, Alabama; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, dear friends, Johnny Clemons and Nikki Fennell; two best friends, Glenda and Al Armour; many, many more.

A public viewing will be held 2:00 PM- 5:00 PM, Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at the funeral home.
