Obituary for Lonetta Brantley
On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, in a quiet whisper, death separated Lonetta Ann Brantley’s soul from her earthly temple, fulfilling Paul’s proclamation that “to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord”. A native of Chattanooga, TN, she was a devoted member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. A loyal employee of Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation and a faithful servant of the Lord, she found joy and a smile in every endeavor she had. Lonetta was fun, loving, and bubbly, a true free spirit who carried a deep love for her family, friends, and “candy.”
She had a laugh so contagious it would engulf the room and she liked doing most things herself because to her she wanted it done right. She was a boss in her own right and never missed a beat.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Irene Harris McCarver Bell and Emmett (Buck) Bell, Sr.; brothers, William (Billy) McCarver, Jr., Emmett (Buck) Bell, Jr., and Brady W. H. Bell; sister, Bobbie Sue Bell Williams, Ruby Jackson; stepmother, Elizabeth Virginia Campbell.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted loving husband, James Louis Brantley, Jr.; son, Brandon Brady Bell Morris, Knoxville, TN; daughter, Penny Bell Morris; stepson, James Louise Tate, Alcoa, TN; stepmother, Vincent Preston; sisters, Tawanna Bowles, Robby Bell, Chattanooga, TN; Hattie Mae Bell, Augusta, GA; Emma McClarity, Atlanta, GA; Elizabeth Moss, Newman, GA; brothers, Emmett Bell, Jr., Bobby Lee (Big Bobby) Bell, Iwalker Bell, Colia Bell, Iwalker T.
