Kenneth Lyons was born March 24, 1947. He passed August 9, 2022, at a local hospital. He was a member of New Monumental Baptist Church where he received Christ at an early age.

He graduated from Riverside High School, class of 1966. After graduation, he served in the US Army. He worked at Chattanooga News Free Press for 29 years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed his daily game shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Lyons, Sr. and Dessel Null Lyons; grandmother, Willie Mae Null.

He is survived by his siblings, Leroy Lyons, Jr., Mae Frances Lyons, both of Chattanooga, Delores Lyons of Atlanta Georgia; nephews, Jeffery Lyons Sr., Jeffery Lyons, Jr., Jacob Leroy Lyons; several cousins and family friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2:00 pm -6:00 pm Tuesday, August 16, 2022, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 pm -6:00 pm at John P. Franklin Funeral Home. A graveside service will begin at 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Chattanooga National Cemetery 1200 Bailey Avenue Chattanooga Tn 37404.
