Obituary for Katherine Booker Proctor
Katherine Booker Proctor, 79, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born April 22, 1942, in Courtland, Alabama to the late Robert Booker and Nellie Mae Jarman Booker. She was a cheerleader and graduate of Howard High School, class of 1961. She was a part of the 1950’s sit in at S.H. Kress on Market Street in Chattanooga. She and her husband were the owners of Big Bluff Café in Memphis, Tennessee
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Terry Booker.
Her survivors include her husband, Melvin Proctor; a dear daughter, Kim Proctor; son, Sean Proctor; grandsons, Sean “Man” Proctor Jr., Aaron Proctor; sisters, Annie B. Johnson, Louise (James) Hunter, Lucille (Henry) Moore, Mary Alice Butler of New Jersey; brother, Robert Booker; a dear nephew, Darrell Johnson Booker; other nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Public viewing will be 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, Friday, May 21, 2021. A funeral service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, May 22, 2021. All services to be held at Serenity Funeral Home,1638 South Sycamore View Road, Memphis, Tennessee, 901-379-0861.
