Obituary for Joyce Ann Lovelace

Our beloved Joyce Lovelace was born on July 30, 1948, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Rufus Chandler and Genett Morris. The Lord called her home on Saturday, January 16, 2021, to reside up above in Heaven, where she was greeted by loved ones who watched her receive her wings of gold.

She was a devoted wife and grandmother who worked for a living to provide for her family. Joyce was a faithful member of New Vernon Grove Missionary Baptist Church for 15 years, where she was a member of the usher board. She retired from Alexian Brothers At The Grove in December 2020, while working as a Property Manager for Thedford and Son.

She is preceded in death by her father, Rufus Chandler, mother, Genett Morris, husband, Pastor Lydell Lovelace, Jr. and sons, Steven and Stacy Mitchell.

Lady Love is survived by her loving children, daughters, Gwenzella Chandler, and Lisa (Derek) Grant; stepdaughter, Shawanna (Tommy) Stewart; stepson, Lydell (Kimberly) Moore; siblings, Gwendolyn Chandler, Vanessa (Terrance) Walker, Robert(Angel) Morris of Cincinnati, OH, and William Morris; sister in laws, Deborah Colvin, Yvonne Hairston; grandchildren, Charlotte (Gregory) Townsend, Erica Mitchell, Avia Barnett, and Karissa Marshall; niece, LaToya (Anthony) Broome; nephews, Robert (Anisha) Morris, Jr., and LaDaris Peck; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

We will forever remember her hugs and kisses, for she was a phenomenal woman who could do anything she put her mind to.

“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” Psalms 37:5
