Johnnie Lee Vaught was united with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 6, 2020. He was born February 23, 1923 in Butler, Tennessee to his parents John M. Vaught and Willie Blanche Maxwell Vaught. Johnnie served as a Corporal in the Army Air Corps during World War II and later worked at Chattanooga Coke and Chemical where he retired after 29 years.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 52 years Bobbie Ann Vaught; oldest son, PFC Johnnie L. Vaught Jr.; parents, John and Willie Vaught; brothers, Thomas Bowman, Edward Vaught, Joseph Vaught, McKinley Vaught, Carl Vaught, Stanley Vaught and Jay Vaught; sisters, Callie Harden, Melvina Cunningham, Sallie Widby, Dora Mae Kendell and Mary Sterling; grandchildren, Kirstin and Jamal Vaught.
The family he leaves to cherish his memory are sons, Jackie Vaught and Terry (Cherie) Vaught; daughter, Wanda Copeland; brother, Loy (Laura) Vaught; sister, Ella Vaught; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 12th, 2020 from 11a.m. -1 p.m. followed by interment at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
