Obituary for John “Sonny” Wesley Bonner

John “Sonny” Wesley Bonner was born on July 10, 1952, in Roanoke, AL. He departed this life on April 8, 2022, at a local hospital.

John attended Randolph High School in Roanoke, AL, and later went on to Job Corp. He resided in Atlanta, GA and was employed as a butcher at a local store before returning to Chattanooga, TN. In Chattanooga, he served as a caregiver until he became disabled.

John loved his family and in his spare time he loved his music and enjoyed dancing. He was well known for cracking jokes for which he will be missed.

John was a believer in God. He was always helping out and taking care of others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bonner, Sr, and Carrie Lee Traylor; grandmother, Mattie Lee Traylor; sisters, Gloria Ann Bonner, Rosa Lee Traylor- Rowland, Shirley Ann Bonner, and Dorothy Bonner-Mayes; brothers, William Bonner, Jr, and Jimmie Lee Bonner.

John leaves to cherish his memories, daughter, Conswella Kitchens (James) Warren, Jr; grandchildren, Raven McConnell, Shania McConnell, and JaKayla Warren; great-grandchildren, Rilyn McConnell-Roshell, all of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Dolores Bonner of Gainesville, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.

Public viewing will be held from 9:00 am-2:00 pm, on Saturday, April 23, 2022, followed immediately by a 2:00 pm funeral service in the chapel of the funeral home.
