Obituary for Jerome Waldrop

Jerome "Tye" Ronald Waldrop transitioned from this world to be with our Lord and Savior on January 12, 2021, at his residence in Atlanta, Georgia. Jerome was born on January 7, 1962, to parents, Dorothy E. Carter-Waldrop, and Milton Charles Waldrop. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Raulston R. and Sarah A. Carter, Sr., John Waldrop, Sr.; uncles, Raulston "Cricket" R. Carter, Jr.; special uncle, James J. Carter, John "Drip" Waldrop, Jr.; cousins, Adrian M. Carter, Alfred S. Carter; aunts, Betty Carter, and Rose Carter.

"Tye" was a carpenter by trade, and he trained under Uncle James J. Carter. He was loving, kind, social, funny, open-hearted, and he believed in family. Tye had deep compassion for others.

His biggest accomplishment was being the absolute AWESOME son, brother, uncle, and friend to anyone who has ever known him. He was AMAZING and LOYAL to his family and friends. He loved music, and his favorite artists were 2 PAC and Michael Jackson. "Tye" entertained us with different voice messages with music on his phone that he changed weekly.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Dorothy E. Carter-Waldrop and father. Milton (Abadit) Charles Waldrop; sisters, Dorthea A. Waldrop, Letitia D. Carter, all of Chattanooga, Pam Waldrop, and Nhah Waldrop, both of Mesa, Arizona; brother, Stacy L. Crawl; nephew, Chappell J. Taylor; niece, DeSha Crawl; aunt, Melba Brown; uncles, Alfred Carter, Ronald (Tawana) Waldrop; a host of cousins, friends, and relatives; special friends, Johnny Evans, Daniel Evans, Anthony Evans, and Gerald Hubbard.

He will be remembered and greatly missed because Jerome was not just a son, a brother, an uncle. He was our friend.
