Obituary for James Alex Tucker
James Tucker, 86, passed away January 13, 2023, in Chattanooga Tennessee. He was born February 14, 1936, in Roanoke, Alabama to Bob Tucker and Ora Lee Trammell Tucker.
James attended Randolph County Training School in Roanoke, AL. He served courageously in the United States Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
James retired from Economy Honda after a number of years as an autobody repairman and painter. He also worked at Capitol Toyota for eighteen years.
James was a faithful member of Rock Island Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and an usher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Lonnie Joe Tucker, and Larry Tucker.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife, Lonnie Mae Tucker; two sons, Delta Tucker and DeVilla (Danielle) Tucker; daughter, MiaFarrow Tucker; three brothers, Eddie Tucker, Jimmy Tucker, and Oliver Tucker; sister, Mattie (Eddie)Wilson; two brothers-in-law, Walter (Mable) Mayweather and Willie Clarence Mayweather ; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Jannitt Tucker and Jacqueline Tucker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, members and friends.
Public viewing will be held 2 PM to 6 PM, Sunday, January 22, 2023, at the funeral home. A 12:30 pm funeral service will be held Monday, January 23 in the chapel of the John P Franklin Funeral Home. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery. Gate time 2 PM.
