Obituary for Hezekiah Hazel Brooks
Hezekiah “Hazel” Brooks, 96, departed this life and entered into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Collegedale, TN.
Hazel was born on July 11, 1924, in Shepherd, TN, to Calvin Lee King, Sr. and Nannie Johnson King. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Nash; two sisters; Sarah Smith and Ceola Tipton; two brothers, Mack King and Calvin King, Jr..
She was a licensed beautician to many residents in the Chattanooga area. In her retirement, she worked with Orange Grove Center serving those with disabilities. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington Hills.
Survivors include her brother and sister- in- law, Paul (Verlin) King, of San Bernadino, California; sister-in-law, Josie Mae King, Chattanooga. TN., a grandson, a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 5th, 2021, from 9 am – 12 noon at John P. Franklin Funeral Home. Graveside service will immediately follow at Shepherd Community Cemetery at 1 pm. Officiated by Rev. Ronnie Bullard and Rev. James A. Smith, First Baptist of Washington Hill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Hazel Brooks to Hospice of Chattanooga or First Baptist Church of Washington Hills.
