Obituary for Herbert Montgomery
Herbert L. Montgomery was born to the late Brenda Montgomery, on July 7, 1965. He went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2021.
Herbert was a loving, devoted, fun-loving person. He always put a smile on your face when he was around. He was the greatest husband, big brother, papaw, dad, nephew, and best friend, you could have in your life. Herbert made sure he gave his life to God before he left this world. He was saved and at peace with his homegoing. He was called “Chattanooga’s Finest”, “Herb Herb” and “Bruh Man” by all who knew him. Herbert was the sweetest person you could know. His heart was made of gold, and he would give you his last to make sure you were ok.
He was preceded in death by his mother; nephew, Robert (Mookie) Gill; uncles, Willie Montgomery, and Orlando Montgomery Sr.; aunts, Adele Thomas and Sherry Waites his grandparents James and Jessie Belle Montgomery; cousin, Frank Usher, III.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Angela Montgomery; his devoted siblings, brother, Paul (Lucretia) Montgomery, Cleveland, Tennessee; two sisters, Paula Montgomery and Tara Montgomery; five nephews, Leslie (Elizabeth) Montgomery, Devonta Montgomery, Denzel (Chasity) Montgomery, Chattanooga, Paul (Danielle) Montgomery, Jr., Columbus, Georgia, and Malik Montgomery, Cleveland, Tennessee; two nieces, Miakesha Montgomery, Cleveland, Tennessee, and Kimalyah Evans; aunts, Mary Maddox, Jeraline (William) McCallum, Constance (Michael) Hayes, both of Jacksonville, Florida; one uncle, Charleston Montgomery; stepchildren, Rita O’Rourke (Andre), and Patrick Page (Tamara), both of Cleveland, Tennessee; grandchildren, Charlie and Darius O’Rourke, Ashley, Jacob, Caleb, Patrick, III , Kaitlyn, Sophia, Isabel, Malachi, Kayleigh Page, all of Cleveland, Tennessee; six great-nephews; Devonta, Jr., Denzel, Jr, Dakoda, Malaikai, Aiden, and Jayden; two great-nieces, Mylia and Kailen, cousins, Renea, Yvette, Yolanda, Kevin (Tammy), Bobby (Lisa), Chapalle, Michalle (Reggie), Tramale, Maria, Krissy, Malcolm, Calvin, Nikkia, Charles, Tracie, Derrick, Orlando, Jr. (Chanel), Edrisha (Alex), Renita, Adrian, Stephanie (Shannon), Twanna (Mark), Kempton, Christopher, Y’Tanya, Eartha, Pauletta, Herman, Pauline, Monique, Nakia (Sam), Catherine; best friends, Germon Baker, and Jason Pittman; a host of other family and friends.
