Obituary for Helene Walker
Helene Theresia Walker was born on April 21, 1958 in Memphis TN to the late Reverend O. Mason and Lealer Mae Mason. She was the third child of seven in this union. Helene lived a life full of love, devotion, and loyalty. She was a light to her family and despite life’s journey, she remained a child of God. Helene was called home to be with the Lord on March 14,2022 from Life Care Center of Redbank TN.
Helene was a loving wife whose passion was to take care of her family and friends, although she was not a member of a local church, she was passionate about her love for Christ. She was a woman who prayed daily and kept the Lord as her life foundation. Her soft-spoken nature and loving spirit created an aura and made it a pleasure to be in her presence.
Helene met her soul mate Tommy Eugene Walker 50 years ago in Parsons TN. They were joined in union on July 21, 2011, in Jackson TN. They were married for 18 wonderful years and are the epitome of unconditional love. She was a homemaker and caregiver who made sure that her husband never lacked for anything. Although she never had any biological children, she was a wonderful mother to her Chihuahua, Napoleon Giovante’ , also known as Master P. He was her sunshine and gave her so much joy.
Helene was preceded in death by her father, Reverend O. Mason; brothers, Sonny Mason, Orzelle Mason Jr., Godfrey Mason, and her beloved Pomeranian, Chi Chi.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband and life mate, Tommy Eugene Walker; mother, Lealer Mae McDonald; sisters, Yvette (David) Haney, Pastor Martha Poe, and Yvonne (Arthur) Mason-Roberson; her special baby, Napoleon Giovante; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Helene’s loving spirit will truly be missed but we know she is in the arms of the Lord.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home. Interment: Highland Memorial Gardens.
