Obituary for Hazel J. Adams

Hazel Jones Adams, affectionately known as “Aunt Hazel”, 102 years old, passed away December 27, 2020 in Chattanooga. She was born February 23,1918 in Kensington, Georgia, to the late Ivory Jones Sr, and Lillian Love Jones. After retiring from Siskin Steel in her 60's, Hazel went on to serve as a Foster Grandparent nurturing Children at Orange Grove Center and other Day Care Centers for 23+ years. She was also active with the Avondale Community Center for Seniors. She attended Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church and was their oldest member.

She is predeceased by her parents, Ivory Jones, Sr., and Lillian Jones; siblings, Harling Jones, Sr., Lorina Burse, Forrest Wilson, and Myrtle Horton.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sisters, Arrie Roberta Dews and Mamie Ruth Mathis, Chickamauga, Georgia, Mary Lizzie Clemons, Reminderville, Ohio; brother, Ivory (Mildred) Jones, Jr., Lyerly, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM, Friday, January 8, 2021, at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held. Interment: Garmany Cemetery in Kensington, Georgia.
