Obituary for Harvey Broadnax
Harvey Cornelius Broadnax, 98, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022 in a local health care facility.
Mr. Broadnax was the son of the late Harvey and Maxie Broadnax. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mildred Witt Broadnax and seven siblings.
Harvey was a native of Chattanooga and a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He was a member of Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was a World War II veteran and was employed for many years with Ross-Meehan Foundry until his retirement.
Survivors include his daughter, Mildred C. Broadnax; sister, Patricia Broadnax, Jackson, TN; cousins, Pressie Wasson, Stockton, CA, and Rosetta Strickland, Chattanooga, TN; sister-in-law, Emma Broadnax, Chattanooga, TN; cousin-in-law, Mary Frazier, Woodbridge, VA; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public viewing will be held from 10:00 am-11:30 am, Tuesday, December 13, 2022, followed by an 11:30 am funeral service at Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church, 7463 Pinewood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421 with Rev. Dr. Bobby L. Hampton, Eulogist.
Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
