Obituary for Gwendolyn Gail Bonner
Gwendolyn Gail “Gwen” Bonner, 63, was born June 8, 1957 to the late Richard and Mattie B. Smith in Chattanooga. She passed away on December 31, 2020.
She was a graduate of Kirkman Technical High School, class of 1975. A retiree of Restaurant Enterprises, “Gwen”, as the family and most of her friends called her, was a good person with a good heart. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was loved by all who knew her. She will truly be missed.
Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mattie B. Smith; two sisters, Charlotte Simms and Richette “Tay” Smith.
Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Ray Bonner; son, Cameron Jackson; daughter, Chetara Bonner; 3 grandchildren, JaShayla, Cameron, Jr., and Alecia; sisters, Maryann (Usuf) Saleem, Washington, DC., Wanda Watson, Jerrilyn Smith, Paulette Dunson, Tijuana Smith, Valerie (Jose’) Sanchez, Desoto, TN; brothers, Danny (Paula) Smith, East Ridge, TN, Eric (Verneeda) Smith, Clarksville, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm Monday, January 11, 2021 at the funeral home. A private family funeral service will be held. Interment: Forest Hills Cemetery.
