Obituary for Gloria Lacy

Gloria Jean Lacy was born on December 14,1948, to the late Robert Lewis Allen and Barbara Jean Chapman in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She found eternal rest on March 26, 2021, at Erlanger Medical Center of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

She received Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Chattanooga, TN. She married Lee Andrew Lacy, Jr., on October 7, 1967, with whom she lived a life full of love while they faithfully served Christ together as one. She joined Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church in 1990 under the pastorate of Reverend Harold K. Lester. Gloria’s works were evident of commitment to Christ. She sang in the choir and was an active and faithful member of the Deaconess Ministry, Trustee Wives Ministry, Sunday School, Beautifying Guild, Travel Ministry, and Wednesday evening Bible study.

She enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, and traveling. She, however, was best known for her crafts, especially sewing, and cooking. She was talented extraordinaire and was a joy to be around. Her sense of humor would leave you “laughing out loud.”

She was predeceased by her son, Lee Andrew Lacy, III; and parents.
