Geneva May Maples was born April 12, 1940 to the late Eliza and Benny Evans in Griffin, Ga. She passed away peacefully among family on April 1, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Maples, Sr.; parents, Eliza and Benny Evans; daughters, Robin and Janet Maples; son, Willie Evans; sister, Lucille (Ralph) Ramsey; brother, Willie Roy Evans; great grandson, Master Kanye Henderson.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, daughter, Gloria Evans; sons, Darryl (Annette) Maples, James Maples Jr. of Huntsville, Ala ; grandchildren, Natasha (Wardell) Justice, Christopher (LaGloria) McKibbens, Renee Cross, Kelia Brown, Tamika, Bridget and Contrina Evans, Jaquan and Takisha White; 7 great grandkids; 7 great great grandkids; a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives; 2 special best friends, Nellie Davis and Rose Murphy; special grandkids, Brittny (Kenneth) Hudgins, Anthony Davis Jr., Roxanne (Robert) Smith, and LaFrizz Clift.

Public viewing will be held 2:00 pm- 6:00 pm Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at John P. Franklin Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm Thursday, April 13, 2023 in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home. Interment: Highland Memorial Gardens.
