Obituary for Gary Fitch
Gary DeWayne Fitch, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on February 13, 2021. Gary lived a full life in every sense of the phrase. He was a self made and resilient man who touched and influenced the lives of countless families and friends for over 50 years.
Gary was born on November 4, 1970 to Vervely Fitch and Henry Earl Leatherwood. He was educated in the Hamilton County Public School System. He attended Brainerd High School. He was employed by O & M Heating and Air Conditioning.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Etta Whitehead, and Ross (Ella) Leatherwood; uncle, Taft Whitehead Jr.; aunt, Ruby Blanks.
Gary leaves to cherish, his wife, Sherry Johnson; children, DeShana Fitch, LaToria Fitch, Britnee Fitch, and Mar'kel Fitch, LaKevia Smith; Keira Fitch, Amber Fitch and Tyouna Fitch; 17 grandchildren; parents, Vervely Fitch, Henry Earl (Sandra) Leatherwood; 3 sisters, Lisa (Mose) Fitch, Kelly Wade and Yamina Leatherwood; 3 brothers, Patrick Wells, Tracey Wade, and Brian Womble; 3 uncles, Thoepria Leatherwood, James Fitch, and Rev. Leroy (Charlotte) Fitch; 2 aunts, Diane (Kenneth) Sutton and Barbara Whitehead; 2 devoted nieces, Aiesha Fitch and Ariel.
Public viewing will be held 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the funeral home. A private family funeral service will be held.
