Obituary for Faneeta Gail Mayweather

Faneeta Gail Jenkins Mayweather entered eternal rest at her home on July 25, 2022. She was born on July 13, 1956, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Mary Louise Whatley and Herman D. Jenkins, Sr.

Faneeta was a graduate of Brainerd High School, class of 1975. She was previously employed with the Chattanooga City Schools and as an LPN with Hamilton County Nursing Home. She was the first member of the United Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. She was a faithful member and served as a Sunday School Teacher and president of the Sunshine Band.

Faneeta was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Louise Whatley and Herman D. Jenkins, Sr.

Survivors include her husband of forty years, Elder Willie C. Mayweather; daughters, Elisha R. Shelby and Ariunne (Jermichael) Daniels; sons, Michael Mayweather and Elder Jeremy Mayweather; five grandchildren, Lamar Shelby, Jr., Michael Mayweather, Jr., Jada Kimbrough, Zian Daniels, and Elijah Daniels; seven brothers, Kevin Jenkins, Dewayne Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, Dennis Jenkins, Lawrence Jenkins, Adrian Jenkins, and Lee Oliver; sisters in law, Rachel (James) Tucker and Mable (Walter) Mayweather; aunt, Joann Davis and family of Philadelphia, PA; best friend of over forty years, Iris Powe; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM, Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the funeral home.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 11:00am Friday, August 5, 2022, at United Tabernacle Church of God in Christ 2416 Dodson Avenue, Chattanooga, with Pastor Ronnie Powe officiating.

Interment: Highland Memorial Cemetery.
