Mrs. Elizabeth C. Gilbert of Chattanooga, Tennessee entered Life December 10, 1949, and took her rest on December 16, 2022, at Erlanger Hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Gilbert was the widow of the late Mr. Eric Gilbert and the daughter of the late Mrs. Annie Ruth Robinson and Mr. Henry Mack Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kiley O. Cannon and several sisters and brothers. Elizabeth was retired. She was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Howard High School.

Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Kressa (Awudu) Yusif of Duluth, Georgia; one stepdaughter, Amanda Gilbert of Chattanooga, TN; five sisters, Nancy Steadman, Oreatha Cannon, and Kristi King all of Spartanburg SC, Madeline Hale and Linda Petty of Chattanooga, TN; one sister-in-law, Thereasa Gilbert of Chattanooga, TN; one brother, Henry Robinson, Jr. of Chattanooga, TN; two brothers-in-law, Ernest Gilbert, Jr. and Jeffrey Gilbert of Chattanooga, TN; eleven grandchildren; a special nephew, Shawn (Shannon) McShan and several other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and special friends.

Public viewing will be held 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 29, 2022, followed by a 2:00 PM funeral service in the Chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.

Interment will be at a later date: Lincoln Memorial Park, 2256 Cannons Campground Rd, Spartanburg, SC. 29302
