Obituary for Doris Peggy Ramseur

Doris June Ramseur, known as “Peggy,” was born on November 24, 1932, to William and Rosa Ramseur. She attended Howard High School and later went on to attend Riverside School of practical nursing in Nashville, TN where she became an LPN.

Doris worked as a nurse at Erlanger Hospital for 45 years until she retired to take care of her mother. Because of her loving spirit she also helped other family members and friends as well.

Doris truly loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by both her parents; her oldest daughter, Vivian “Cookie” Bell; two brothers, William Ramseur, Jr., and Charles Green, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Lucille (William) Harrison; son-in-law, William Bell, Sr.; four grandchildren, William Bell, Jr., Jamilah (Michael) Scott, Devin Bell, Sr., and Vincent Reese, Jr.; nine great grandchildren, Meziah, Xavier, and Michael Scott, Londyn Reese, Ashunti Bell, Deja Ferris, Devin Bell, Jr., LaNyia Bell, and Joseph Gallimore; two cousins, Lillian Schreane and Doris King; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM, Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the funeral home chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 13, 2021, at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 214 East Eighth Street.

Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery
