Donald Bernard Shaw was the only child born to Dorothy W. Shaw and Warnie C. Shaw on May 13, 1951, Mother's Day. He departed this life on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, in Chattanooga.
Donald was a lifelong member of Thompkins Chapel AME Zion Church. He attended the Chattanooga Public Schools and graduated from Riverside High School class of 1969. He attended Tennessee State University and transferred to Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO, where he graduated in 1973 with a degree in speech pathology,
He was preceded in death by his parents; his aunt, Velma J. Wilkerson; uncle, James Wilkerson, and many other aunts, uncles, and relatives.
Donald leaves to cherish his memories, one aunt, Carrie E. Wilkerson; dear cousins, Avis (Lamar) King, Eric L. Wilkerson, Jameca Forrester, Kobe, and Kaleb Ramseur; two stepbrothers, Warnie and Trey Shaw; other cousins, Winifred Henry, James and Sherine Bryant and family, Barbara Bryant and sons, Cheryl Bryant and sons; dear friends, Finis Jones (deceased), Michael Jones, Michael Hines, Tommy Hester, and others.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at the funeral home. An 11:00 AM funeral service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Arrangements by John P Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995
