DeNeese Arletta Fields-Howse transitioned from this world to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 14, 2021, after a long illness. Born on October 24, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Fields and the late Ruby Cox. DeNeese worked in the fashion and hairstyling industry for a few years and even competed in the Miss Black Chattanooga Pageant. Later she attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee, and later completed her studies in Nursing where she spent the rest of her career in health care.

DeNeese leaves her love and appreciation to her devoted family, brother, Albert Fields (Michelle) of Atlanta, Georgia; devoted cousin, Josephine Scruggs, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; niece, Martobia Wood, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Uncle James E Jones, of Chattanooga, TN; special cousins, Gayle Oglesby Ricks, of Columbia, South Carolina, Tamara Oglesby, of Chattanooga, Maurice(Mildred) Jones, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Susan Jones (Kamal) Dorsanville, of Ridge, New York, Jackie Scruggs(Harold) Brown, David (Carla) Scruggs, Kimmie Scruggs; friends, Cynthia Cash and Marvis McKeldin, all of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

A special tribute and thanks to Grace Christmon, a long-time friend and devoted ally. Her goddaughter Kia Mosley, whom she adored.
