Cynthia A. Caffey 74, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was born on October 22, 1948, to Emmitt and Mary Howard Ashley. Cynthia was a graduate of Howard High School and employed by Pro Re Bona Day Care. She was a dedicated member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church and served on the Usher’s Ministry.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Emmitt and Mary Ashley; two brothers, Emmitt Ashley Jr., and George Ashley; one sister, Lavertta Ashley; two grandmothers, Patti Howard, and Maybell Ashley.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two very devoted sons, Anthony (Lenita) Caffey, and JP Bowman Jr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee; daughter, Nissee Lyle of Florida; grandsons, Lebron Caffey, Tavis Caffey, Darius Bowman, and Notorious Goodlow; granddaughters, Ebony Caffey, Brandy Caffey, Quintana Wordlaw, and Nicole Carter; a special great-grandson, Shakir Bowman; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, James Ashley; aunt, Margaret Ashley; several nieces, nephews and cousins; dear friends, Rosa Harris, Teddi Mendel, Norman Jean Ware, and many other close friends.

Public viewing will be held 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Friday, November 11, 2022, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 12, 2022 at St. Paul AME Church, 2514 Williams Street, Chattanooga. Interment: Highland Memorial Gardens.
