Obituary for Carlton Richardson

Carlton "Big Dog" Richardson was born June 26, 1950. He passed away peacefully October 4, 2020 at Life Care of Red Bank. He graduated from Howard High School in 1968 where he played basketball for the Hustling Tigers. After graduating, he joined the Navy and served three years Vietnam as an Equipment Operator. He received an Expeditionary Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Star. After leaving the Navy he was employed by the Southern Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Belvin and Dorothy Richardson and Roderick Richardson all of Chattanooga Tn.

Carlton leaves to cherish his memories a wife of 49 years, Linda Richardson; children, Sheldon (Iva) Richardson, Dannielle (Otis) Lucas, Brittny Richardson, Nikki (Dre) Geter, and Alicia White, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Beverly Dockery of Concord NC, Arletha (Riley) Bradford of Chattanooga, Diameta (Frances) Robinson of Cartersville GA, James Glover of Washington DC; cousin, but like a brother, James (Gail) Marrow; seven grandkids, Otis (Janay) Lucas Jr., Tranisha Lucas, Leandra (Brandon) Wells, Alexander Simmons, J'Nae Matthews, Aaliyah Fairbanks and Nicholas Fairbanks all of Chattanooga; a host of other relatives and friends; a unique and special friendship better known as the "Fabulous Five" , Donnie Calloway, Curtis Stallings, Fred Hamilton, Teddy Savage and Calvin McCain.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, October 16, 2020. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
