Obituary for Carl Michael Roberts

On October 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM God knocked on Carl Michael Roberts’ door and called him home free from pain. He closed his eyes and said, “yes Lord I am ready.” He left his home and family and said, “I am free, and I went to a better home.” He joined his parents, Mattie Owens and Harold Roberts, Sr.; brother, Harold Roberts, Jr, and sister Linda J. Roberts Booker, all who went home before him.

Carl Michael Roberts born December 6, 1953. A graduated from Dade County High School, class of 1972. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served four years. After leaving the Air Force, he was employed at Wheland Foundry until the company closed. Carl then went to work at Mueller company and retired after several years of service there. To his friends he was known as “Mellow Yellow.” This nickname had been given to him by his working friends and buddies.

Carl was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Wildwood, Georgia. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan “ Go Dawgs” and enjoyed car racing.

He was married to Anna Pickett Roberts and to that union three beautiful children were born.

Carl leaves precious memories to his beloved children, Michael Shawn Roberts, Christie Carol Roberts and James Christopher Roberts; grandchildren, Camryn Roberts, Braxston Roberts, Payton Roberts, Hannah Dempsey, Alyssa Roberts, Brooklyn Morrison and Christopher Dempsey; a loving, devoted, caring sister, Diane Roberts Griffith; two sisters-in-law, Mary Roberts (Harold, Jr deceased) and Emma Gott; one brother-in-law, Robert (Linda) Booker; two lovely nieces, two nephews, three beautiful great-nieces and four great-grandnieces; a host of other devoted caring cousins, family, and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 9:00 AM-11:30 AM, on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, with the family receiving friends from 11:30 AM until the hour of the funeral service at 12:30 PM at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.

Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery
