Obituary for Calvin Thomas Moore, Sr.

Calvin Thomas Moore Sr. passed away September 16, 2022 in NHC Nursing Home Facility. He was born September 14, 1961. He attended Love Fellowship Outreach Ministries where he served on the Deacon Board until his health declined. Calvin was a 1979 graduate of Howard High School.

He worked at Erlanger Hospital for 22 years. He was one of the first employee’s to start parking cars in Erlanger’s Valet parking. Over the years he moved his way up to be a Physical Therapist at Erlanger and Siskins. Calvin was employed at Siskin when his health declined. Calvin was always smiling and loved playing cards, chess, checkers, bowling and shooting pool. He enjoyed going to the Eastgate Senior Center, where he won the trophy for the best Pool Player in 2017. Calvin loved spending time with all his grandkids, who were his joy and motivation. He worked nine years at Little Angels Learning Center (part-time) and the kids loved them, some Mr. Calvin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Leila Moore, Sr.; grandparents, David and Harriet Moore and Charlie and Vienna Dillard; brothers, James Moore Jr., Charlie Moore Sr., Willie Moore, Ronnie Moore, and Clevon Moore; sisters, Opehelia Moten, Leila Moore, Katherine Moore, Pamela Moore, and Vickie Moore; mother-in-law, Phyllis Franklin.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 42 years, Yolanda Moore; sons, Calvin (Talina) Moore, Jr., Tevin (Jaza) Moore and Cevin (Keeya)Moore; grandkids, Kalvontay (PaPa Man) Moore, Brielle Moore, Jade Moore, Kennedi Moore, Ilan Moon, Relaya and Lakia Jackson; sister, Carolyn Moore; sisters-in-law, Daphney Moore, Gracelia Moore and Tawana Franklin (Caregiver); father-in-law, William Franklin; adopted daughter, Bellnique (Rahman) Moon; goddaughters, Brittny (Kenneth)Hudgins, of Murfessboro, Tennessee and Brandi Evans; god -grandsons, T.J Hughley, Kenneth Hudgins, Jr., of Murfreesboro, TN and Legend Evans; devoted niece, Lavern Moore, great niece, Harlem Frazier; special aunts, Linda Williams, Belinda Frazier and Barbara Williams; all the relatives in Alabama; best friends, Odderic Ford, Sr. and Vincent Crumb; his own personal barber, Randall Evans; his playing game’s partner at NHC, Efrem Toney; all other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Highland Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Moore family.
