Obituary for Brenda Louise Hemphill

Brenda Louise Hemphill, 55, passed away December 15, 2022, in Chattanooga. She was born March 27, 1967, to Roosevelt Glanton and Mattie May Glanton.

Brenda was a 1985 graduate of Howard High School. Brenda was formerly employed with Seaboard and Koch Foods. She was a member of the Church of the Firstborn.

Brenda was an excellent, kind, and caring mother. She was a special lady and a gift from God. She was a God-fearing woman who shared the Gospel with all in whom she came in contact.

Following retirement, she spent plenty of time with her daughter and grandchildren. Brenda enjoyed cooking meals for the Community Kitchen, spreading the message of Jesus’ love in every way that she could. She reached and met strangers with smiles, conversation, laughter, and donations. She also enjoyed watching TV, doing puzzles, and reading the Bible. Brenda praised God through ups, downs, losses, wins, and pain, She remained humble through it all. She never gave up and always credited her source of strength to God.

Brenda leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughters, Keria D. Hemphill, Brechella Hemphill; granddaughter Keyvuanna King; grandson, Breychion-Le Hemphill; mother, Mattie M. Glanton; former spouse, Kevin Hemphill.

Public viewing will be held 2:00 pm-6:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.

A private funeral service and interment will be held at a later date.
