Brenda Joyce Parker Dickens was born November 28, 1947, in Madison, AL. She was the eldest of six children born to the late Ollie and Inez Parker, Jr.
Brenda was a graduate of Riverside High School, class of 1965. She also attended the University of Chattanooga (now the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga) for two years.
She worked as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines for many years. Later she owned her own childcare center, Glenwood Kiddie Academy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents, Edgar Collier and Mrs. Ora Langford; paternal grandparents, Ollie and Mattie Parker, Sr.; nephews, DeMarcus Williams, KeAnte’ Clemons, and Marcus Burrell.
Survivors include her son, Cedric “Mojo” Dickens; grandson, Dominic Rashard Dickens; granddaughter, Shaneeka Dickens; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Johnny (Diane) Parker, Larry Parker; sisters, Margery (Tommie) Burwell, Shirley Parker, Valerie Parker, and Angela Parker; devoted friends, sister and brother-in-law, Riley and Paulette Walker and Cedric Douglas; 3 uncles, Carl (Elaine) gamble, Jessie Lee Collier, A.J. Collier; aunts, Bobbie Hall, Willie Mae (Alphonso) Western, Emma Jane (Edward) Moore and Mildred Collier and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial celebration of life will be held from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm, on Monday, April 10, 2023, in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.
