Obituary for Bernice Taylor
Bernice T. Taylor, age 90, received her wings on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 15, 1931 in Harrison, TN to the late Alfred and Flister Taylor.
Bernice attended Booker T. Washington High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She was a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where she served in the Seniors Ministry. Bernice retired from Parkridge Hospital after many years of service. She loved cooking and spending time with her children.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. Taylor; siblings, Alpha Collier, John Taylor, Clara Hughes, James Taylor, Helen Taylor, and Florence Turnbow.
Those left to cherish her memories are her devoted children, Velicia (Bernard) Qualls, Jacqueline Taylor, Donna Taylor, and Robert (Angela) Taylor, Jr.; siblings, Elnora (Roy) Miller, Jo-Ann (James) Harris, Harold (Brenda) Taylor, and Sandra (Edward) Parker; grandchildren, Kevin Shell, Erica (Edmund) Baulding, and LaShawnda Qualls, LaDawn (Victor) Spence, Tammi (Christopher) Wright, Ryan Conyers, and Dieshunn (Letesha) Taylor; great-grandchildren, Dedrick Haslerig, Taylor Bonds, Jerison Qualls, Jaidyn Peterson, A’Mya Russell, Dieshunn Taylor, Jr., Whitney (James) Nelson, Kerrick Oliver; sister-in-law, Mary Catherine Peek; several nieces nephews, relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM, Thursday, June 16, 2022, followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM, at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, 4801 Highway 58.
Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
