Mrs. Sewell was saved by the grace of God as a young woman and was a life-long member of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. She was the wife of Otis Sewell who was also a member and a faithful deacon at Antioch. Mrs. Sewell's favorite conversation was to talk about how good the Lord is.

She leaves to mourn her peaceful death five generations, including: a very close "niece-like-sister" and room-mate Fannie B. Hicks; a caregiving great-niece, Rosalyn (Gary) Hickman; a close niece-in-law, Ms. Sarah Rowe; a dear friend, Joyce Wilson, all of Chattanooga, TN.

Other survivors include 4 nieces, Marjorie Battle, (Huntsville, AL), Julia Clay, (Detroit, MI), Maryann Dorsey, (Detroit, MI); another great-niece, Maria Smotherman; 6 great nephews, James Taylor, Martin Van Patton, Mark Patton, Stephen Smotherman, Harold Smotherman, Marvin Battle. Jr., Marrell Battle; several "great-great", and "great-great-great" nieces and nephews.

A public viewing will be held 11:30 AM-12:30 PM, January 15, 2021, at the funeral home. A 1:00 PM graveside service will follow. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
