Obituary for Alvin Richardson
Alvin Alphonse Richardson, 87, passed away on December 13, 2020 in Chattanooga, TN. Alvin was born in Chattanooga, TN and lived there until he joined the military in 1953. Alvin was an US Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. Before retiring in 1975, he ranked up to Sr. Drill Sergeant. After retiring, he served as a police officer at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, University of Kansas, and at the Washington Navy Shipyards, until 1993.
In passing, Alvin was predeceased by his loving mother, Laura Richardson, and his brother, William Petty. Alvin leaves behind his loving sister and caregiver, Margaret Evans; daughter, Rebecca Gallimore; grandson, Joseph Gallimore; other relatives and friends.
To conclude, the family would like to extend appreciation to the nurses and CNA’s, at Martin-Boyd and Hospice, for their excellent care.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, January 11, 2021. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
