Obituary for Alice Marie Robinson Orr
Alice Marie Robinson Orr also known to family and friends as "The Burger Lady" departed this life on Monday, October 26, 2020. She entered this life July 19, 1949. She was born in Chattanooga, TN, to the union of Jesse and Louise Robinson.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Orr, Sr.; parents, Jesse and Louise Robinson; sisters, Mary, Helen, Roonie; brothers, Jesse Jr., Edward, and Clifton.
She was a faithful member of Mt Canaan Baptist Church. Alice was devoted to her family and friends and enjoyed cooking for them. Aside from spreading love through her cooking, one thing guaranteed to be missed by her loved ones will be her annual greeting cards, may it be birthdays or special occasions. If nothing else you were guaranteed a special card from Mrs. Alice. She loved to play cards.
Those left to cherish Alice precious memories are two sons, Ellis Orr, Jr, and Charles (Lakisha) Orr, Sr.; one daughter, Angela ‘Ria’ Orr; two sisters, Darrelle and Terry, all of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren; a dear sister-in-law, Irish ‘Sue’ Robinson; a dear son-in-law, Demetris ‘Cheese’ Bray; three devoted friends, Katherine Shropshire, Rose Clay, and Fredrick Anderson, all of Chattanooga; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the funeral home. A private family funeral service will be held. Interment: Highland Memorial Gardens.
